Diabetic Foot Care

Diabetes can affect the nerves and blood flow in your feet, which means a small blister, cut or callus can turn into a serious problem without you noticing. Regular diabetic foot care is one of the most effective ways to prevent ulcers, infections and amputations.

Dr. Gathani provides thorough diabetic foot examinations, education and ongoing treatment to help you keep your feet healthy and stay active.

Conditions we monitor and treat

  • Diabetic peripheral neuropathy (numbness, tingling or burning)
  • Poor circulation and peripheral arterial disease
  • Calluses and corns that can lead to ulcers
  • Diabetic foot ulcers and slow-healing wounds
  • Thick, fungal or ingrown toenails
  • Charcot foot and changes in foot shape
  • Skin infections and cracked heels
How We Help

What to expect at your visit

  • 01

    Comprehensive foot exam

We check sensation, circulation, skin, nails and foot structure to identify risks early.

    A personal prevention plan

You receive clear guidance on daily foot checks, footwear and skin and nail care.

  • 03

    Ongoing treatment

Routine care such as callus and nail treatment helps reduce pressure points before they break down.

  • 04

    Coordinated care

When needed, we work alongside your primary care doctor, endocrinologist or vascular specialist.

When to See a Podiatrist

Schedule a visit if you notice:

  • A sore, blister or cut that is not healing
  • New redness, swelling or warmth in the foot
  • Drainage or an unusual odor
  • Numbness, tingling or burning that is getting worse
  • A change in the color or shape of your foot

If you have a medical emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.
