Wound Care Management

A wound that does not heal within a few weeks needs specialized attention. Chronic wounds on the feet and legs are often linked to diabetes, poor circulation or pressure, and without proper care they can lead to infection and more serious complications.

Dr. Gathani has extensive training in wound care and limb salvage. He focuses on finding the underlying cause of the wound and treating it with close, consistent follow-up.

Wounds we treat

  • Diabetic foot ulcers
  • Arterial (ischemic) ulcers
  • Venous leg ulcers
  • Pressure wounds
  • Post-surgical wounds that are slow to heal
  • Infected wounds and osteomyelitis (bone infection)
How We Help

Our approach to wound care

  • 01

    Identifying the cause

We evaluate circulation, pressure, infection and other factors that may be preventing healing.

  • 02

    Advanced wound treatment

Treatment may include debridement (removing unhealthy tissue), specialized dressings and infection management.

  • 03

    Offloading pressure

Special footwear, padding or devices take pressure off the wound so it can heal.

  • 04

    Close monitoring

Regular visits allow us to track progress and adjust your treatment plan at every stage.

When to See a Podiatrist

Schedule a visit if you notice:

  • A wound that has not improved in two weeks
  • Increasing pain, redness or swelling around a wound
  • Drainage, pus or an unusual odor
  • Fever or chills along with a foot wound
  • Darkening or discoloration of the skin

If you have a medical emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.
