Minimally Invasive Surgery

When conservative treatment is no longer enough, minimally invasive surgery can correct many foot problems through very small incisions. Compared with traditional open surgery, it can mean less pain, less swelling, smaller scars and a quicker return to everyday activities.

Dr. Gathani takes a conservative approach and recommends surgery only when it is the right answer for you. When surgery is needed, he uses minimally invasive techniques whenever possible.

Conditions that may be treated

  • Bunions (hallux abducto valgus)
  • Tailor’s bunions (bunionettes)
  • Hammertoes and crossover toes
  • Big toe joint arthritis (hallux rigidus)
  • Bone spurs
  • Metatarsalgia and other forefoot problems
